2/23

We continued on from yesterday finishing with the lend lease act and the Atlantic charter. America was basically on the brink of being in the war, while still remaining out. The America's First Committee was on the other side trying to encourage America to remain isolated and out of any conflicts.

2/22

Students began looking at WWII. We discussed neutrality acts and how america slowly would be pulled into the war. Students looked at the cash and carry neutrality acts of 37 and 39.

2/24-2/26

Wed 24th-We organized notebooks and extra time was spent to review for test tomorrow thurs 25th-US took their unit 5 test friday-Students started unit 6 on wwii by looking at what was going on around the world, and what leaders had taken control.

2/15

We finished up talking about the New Deal. We looked at the Migrant Mother and the Second New Deal. We finished up looking about how the New Deal impacted certain groups including Blacks, Mexican-Americans, and Native Americans. Test is this thursday!

Recap in last 2 weeks

2/3-Started looking at Roosevelt's response to the new deal. He wanted to keep America from fear. Had notes on the first 100 days of his administration 2/4-looked at some of the programs of the new deal. how they provided jobs for Americans who were unemployed 2/5 -I was out, students looked at true life story of depression survivor in the movie Cinderella Man 2/8 -Same as Friday 2/9-looked at weather new deal was good and worked, also how at times Roosevelt took to much power. 2/10- King High Remembers talked about dress code, quickwrite and started looking at the Social Security Act 2/11 -finished movie, Social Security Finished talking about why government took on new power in the 1930's. It was a changing world and people felt insecure in old age.

Tuesday 2/2

Students continued working on yesterday's assignment. It is due by tomorrow. You just need to push turn it in after answering the questions.

Monday 2/1

We continued looking at what life was like During the Depression. Students began an online assignment watching a series of videos/links and musical songs from the era. To complete the assignment students needed to go to google classroom and do the assignment. (the main work is on the google doc titled Depression). If you dont have the class link you will need to ask me.

Friday 1/29

We finished looking at the Stock Market Crash. Students then completed the Storm of the Depression starting on page 464. It looked at 7 things that played a part in the Depression. Together these things created a perfect storm of terribleness for America.

Thursday 1/28

We began looking at the 1930's and the Great Depression. We started off by looking at Stock's and the stock market crashing. This would be a centerpiece of the start of the Great Depression. We had a short reading on the stock market.

Wed 2/27

We looked at the Harlem Renaissance and the arts exploding in African American communities in America. There was a handout that went along with this.
